| Contra-Indications | Anuria, comatose states associated with liver cirrhosis, electrolytic imbalance, early pregnancy, hypersensitivity to frusemide. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| Side Effects | GI disturbances, headache, fatigue, dizziness, blood dyscrasia, orthostatic hypotension, allergic reactions, hypokaleamia, hypomagnesia, hyponatreamia, hyperglycaemia, tinnitus, and deafness. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| Dosage | Orally. Oedema; 40mg stat in the morning. Maintenance: 20mg OD or 40mg on alternate days. Children; 1-3mg/kg daily. Oliguria - Initially 250mg daily increased in steps of 250mg every 4-6hours (max. of single dose 2g). 1.M or slow 1.V; initially 20-50mg. Children; 0.5-1.5mg/kg (max. daily dose of 20mg). Rate not to exceed 4mg/minute. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
